Pembe ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Pembe app.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
Account information: Email address or social sign-in identifiers (Apple ID, Google account) used to create and manage your account.
Health and cycle data: Period dates, cycle length, fertility window, discharge observations, pregnancy symptoms, and other health information you choose to log.
Device information: Device type, operating system version, and anonymous usage identifiers for app functionality and crash reporting, and to measure and deliver our advertising (see section 4).
Purchase information: Subscription status managed through Apple in-app purchases. We do not store your payment details.
2. How We Use Your Information
To provide and personalize the app experience
To generate cycle predictions and fertility insights
To send you reminders and notifications (only if you grant permission)
To manage your subscription and restore purchases
To improve the app through anonymized analytics
To measure which of our ads bring new users, and to help Meta and TikTok show our ads to people likely to be interested
3. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore and Firebase Auth), which provides industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. We do not sell your data to third parties.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
RevenueCat: Subscription management: subscription status and purchase records; a user ID (your Pembe account ID once you sign in); device information used to match purchases to our ads (a device identifier, IP address, device model, Meta's anonymous ID and, only if you allow tracking, the advertising identifier); and your answer to "Where did you hear about Pembe?", including when you choose not to say. revenuecat.com/privacy
PostHog (EU): Product analytics, only if you turn on analytics during onboarding: which onboarding path (period tracking, trying to get pregnant or pregnancy) and steps a device reaches and what happens on the subscription screen, with device type, operating system, language and time zone, under a random ID that is not linked to your name, account or health entries. posthog.com/privacy
Apple Sign-In / Google Sign-In: Authentication only
Meta (Instagram): Advertising measurement and ad delivery. The app sends app events (install and app open, end of onboarding, subscription screen shown, plan selected, and purchase with price, currency and store transaction number) with device information such as model, operating system and an anonymous identifier. Meta's software also reports how long each app session lasted and roughly how much time passed since the previous one. Your advertising identifier is shared only if you allow tracking when iOS asks. Our subscription provider also reports purchases and subscription renewals to Meta, even when you no longer open the app. meta.com/privacy
TikTok: Advertising measurement and ad delivery, only if you allow tracking when iOS asks. TikTok then receives the same app events with device and app information such as device identifiers, IP address, device model and hardware details (screen resolution, memory size, number of processors and recent restart times), operating system, language, time zone and app version, plus regular technical signals from TikTok's software showing when the app is open and in use. Advertising partners never receive your health data, your cycle or pregnancy entries, or your answers in the app. Meta and TikTok use the data they receive under their own privacy policies, including to measure, target and deliver ads. To limit this, turn off tracking for Pembe in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. In your Meta account you can also turn off your activity off Meta technologies in Accounts Center.
5. Health Data
Pembe is not a medical device. The information provided in the app is for personal tracking purposes only and does not constitute medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical decisions.
6. Children's Privacy
Pembe is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Your Rights
You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us. You can also disable notifications through your device settings at any time.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

By downloading or using Pembe, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully.
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Pembe mobile application ("App") operated by Pembe ("we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using the App, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age and agree to these Terms.
2. Description of Service
Pembe is a personal health tracking application designed to help users monitor their menstrual cycle, fertility window, and related health information. The App provides educational content and personal tracking tools.
3. Not Medical Advice
Pembe is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. All content within the App is for informational and personal tracking purposes only. Always consult a licensed healthcare professional before making any health-related decisions, including decisions related to contraception or conception.
4. User Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account.
You are solely responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.
5. Subscriptions and Payments
Pembe offers optional premium features through auto-renewable subscriptions managed by Apple.
Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple ID account settings.
No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods, except as required by applicable law.
Prices are subject to change with prior notice.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
Use the App for any unlawful purpose
Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the App
Interfere with the App's servers or networks
Use the App to transmit any harmful or offensive content
7. Intellectual Property
All content, design, code, and trademarks within the App are the exclusive property of Pembe. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that cycle predictions will be accurate for every user.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pembe shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including reliance on cycle predictions for contraceptive purposes.
10. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before pursuing legal remedies.
